I haven’t seen these two since we shared a brisk + sunny January day in downtown Detroit celebrating their wedding day, and it was so nice to be with them once again in their colorful, eclectic home, only this time I got to meet their son, Casper who just made his entrance into the world a few short weeks ago.

I remember the first time I came to their home to do their engagement photos and a thought that ran through my mind as I noticed all of the makings of a wonderful childhood in the making. These two are creative and artistic (even though Katie rolls her eyes nearly anytime I say something like that about her) and they have a knack for surrounding themselves with things that are not just things— I’m not really sure how to finish that sentence or explain further….

They are wonderful and gentle souls who appreciate the things that make life enjoyable and memorable, and I love my time with them so much. It will always be one of my greatest honors to bear witness to a family growing and evolving….
